Let me describe what NASA has found. Your typical galaxy (like the Milky Way) contains between 1 billion to several trillion stars. Each star (or sun) has the potential of having planets like ours orbiting them. Just recently NASA has discovered a planet that is very similar to ours in water, land, atmosphere and size.
